A Televisit is a virtual one-on-one office visit. 'Virtual' (Tele) meaning that it takes place over an internet connection through a computer or cell phone. Any smartphone, tablet or computer with a microphone and camera will be sufficient.

At this time are offering NEW and ESTABLISHED televisits every day from 12:30-2:30 pm EST. We also offer cosmetic consultations virtually during those times. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we anticipate continuing televisits for all non urgent patients well into the summer.

If you are scheduled for any medical or cosmetic visit with Dr. Mays, that visit can be converted to televisit. We highly recommend doing so in order to avoid running out of your prescription medication and provide you on-time service. Since we are unsure how long COVID-19 will affect in person visits, we encourage everyone to convert to televisits. The exception is skin cancer surgery visits (we are continuing these as scheduled) and full skin examinations (will be rescheduled).

At this time it is unclear which insurances will cover a televisit and coverage vary by plan. A refundable deposit will be collected for all patients with commercial insurance. If you have 100% Medicare coverage, your televisits are COVERED. We also offer a cash pay televisit option for any patient who is unsure of coverage or with no insurance.

You will need your insurance card, a form of payment, and access to a computer or phone to schedule.

We use the Zoom system. You can download the FREE app from a smartphone/tablet or access directly via website https://www.zoom.us/. If you are unable to use the Zoom system we can complete the visit with photos and phone call through a secure email.

There are 2 options to schedule. You can click here to schedule online. Alternatively, you can call the office at 502-384-6544 (option 2 to speak to the receptionist). Make sure you have your insurance card and credit card on hand when you call. The process takes less than 10 minutes.

If the physician decides that a procedure is needed after evaluating you during the televisit, the staff will schedule the procedure for another day. Dr. Mays is coming to the office for in-person procedures and skin cancer surgeries.

Once you have your appointment time and date, you will receive a meeting link via email. Simply click on the link 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. Dr. Mays will perform your video visit . Your "wait time is less than 10 minutes, we ask that you allow this time in case the Doctor is running behind from a previous appointment. Once your appointment is completed, they will take care of your treatment recommendations. Please do not be late for your appointment time. All patients will need to sign the Televisit consent found here prior to their appointment.
