Basal cell carcinoma is a cancer that grows on parts of your skin that get a lot of sun. It is the most common type of skin cancer and grows locally (usually does not spread to other parts of the body). Treatment of the skin cancer is curative with excision. Once diagnosed with this type of skin cancer, skin checks are required routinely.
